Another 20 point Saturday in the sun!

Knaresborough CC enjoyed another 20-point Saturday on May 11th after two convincing wins.

At Aspin Lane, Greg Pickles won the toss and chose to bat. The Aspin Lane wicket was trickier to bat on than anticipated, but a grafty innings of 49 (136) from the captain allowed Knaresborough’s lower order to accelerate in the last 10 overs. 23 (50) from Tashmial Henry, 38* (22) from Jordan Tear and 26 (22) from Ollie Fryer were contributing factors to Knaresborough’s 202-8 from 50 overs.

Knaresborough then took the field and defended the total thanks to 3-31 from Jordan Tear, 4-51 from Toby Giddings and 3-31 from Andy Ward.

Not too far away, at Pannal CC, Knaresborough’s second XI also won the toss, but elected to field. Pannal’s first XI posted 190 all out; Charlie Sutcliffe the pick of the bowlers with 5-38, with healthy contributions from Tom Metcalfe (2-24) and Keiran Reilly (2-53).

With 191 the target, captain Joe Reynolds and Andrew Ward walked out to the crease and started the innings well. Ward departed after making 34 (35) and Reynolds was then supported by Lucas Robinson with 27 (33), Luke Reilly with 36 (48) and Matthew Ramskill with 17* (11).

Knaresborough reached the target after 40.3 overs, with Joe Reynolds finishing on 61* (114), a real captains innings.
